Turn Your Life’s Stories into a Speaking Career
Flappers Comedy Club is proud to host the VIP party & FREE workshop for
Judy Carter’s new book “The Message of You”
Los Angeles, CA – February 17, 2013 -- What if you could take all of the untold stories of your life and make money from them, while inspiring and uplifting others -- would you do it?
Internationally known author, comedian, and speaker Judy Carter has been doing just that for the past 15 years. And now she wants to teach others how to get paid for their own stories in her new book “The Message of You: Turn Your Life Story into a Money-Making Speaking Career”, by St. Martin's Press.
According to Rob Lotterstein (writer, producer, and creator of such TV shows as Disney’s “Shake it Up” and “Will and Grace”), “Judy Carter taught me how to be the story, rather than to just tell a story.”
Judy's made a career out of turning problems into punch lines. Her previous book “The Comedy Bible” has been recognized by The Washington Post as an industry standard for stand-up comedians. Even non-pros credit the book with helping them become funnier at work and in social situations. Carter is hoping “The Message of You” LINK will have the same impact.
To mark the launch of the book's release, there will be a VIP party and book signing, followed by a free workshop at Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank, CA on Sunday, February 17, 2013.... The VIP party is from 3:00-4:00 and tickets are $30.00. This includes a copy of the book, a champagne reception, and chocolate fondue fountain. The free “Message of You” workshop (pre-registration required here) will follow from 4:00 – 6:00.
10% of all author royalties from the book will go to the Fulfillment Fund. The Fulfillment Fund empowers students through education. This includes classroom instruction, mentoring, one-on-one college counseling and experiential learning opportunities, making college a reality for students growing up in educationally and economically under-resourced communities.
