Finding good comedy clubs in Los Angeles can be tricky. Finding places in Los Angeles to have a classy evening can be difficult. However, by mixing the motif of a prohibition speakeasy and a 1920s couture, with top-notch comedic talent and excellent show line-ups, Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank has created a restaurant and venue that really shines.
Flappers, which is located in the heart of Burbank near the AMC 16 and the Media City Center, has many unique things going for it that make it a really excellent place to bring a date, watch comedy, or perform stand-up. Everything from the beautiful main-room, the delicious menu options, the decor, the staff and the location itself make it something special.
Starting with the venue itself, the club has two rooms where they book comedy shows every night. The main room is the larger venue, (hence the name 'Main Room') and the smaller YooHoo room which snugly holds around 60 people. The Main Room is a testament to the effort that Flappers has put in to making this club a cut above the rest. With a red-stone facade in the back, a back velvet curtain around the front, a gorgeous performance space (including a plush sofa) and packed with some of the most comfortable seating you'd want at a restaurant/club, the Main Room is a perfect place to bring a date or the family and watch some great stand-up shows.
And they keep it going with their menu. At most comedy clubs, the quality of the food and drink takes a back seat to getting as many people in the door as possible. But Flappers has taken the time and effort required to make the menu reflect the class and style of the venue. High in flavor and reasonable in price, the menu at Flappers elevates this comedy club to a fine-dining experience.
Then you have the YooHoo room. It is an intimate and intensely fun room with a spacious performance space and line-up after line-up of incredibly talented comics, and you can get all of it for a few bucks. Can't ask for a better deal.
Along with providing an excellent experience for the average comedy-goer, Flappers also teaches comedy and has comedy classes and workshops in their Flappers University.
Keep in mind, you're held to a two-item minimum. But with a small bite to eat and a drink or two, it's not a hassle. You're going to want to taste some of Flapper's gourmet Mac and Cheese dishes.
And, to top this whole thing off: Free. Parking. Parking that is free. Like, it doesn't cost anything. A well-priced club in an easy-to-get-to location, with excellent food, classy decor, great comedians and free parking? You can't go wrong.
