Jay Davis is an actor, comedian and comedy promoter/producer who garnered nationwide attention after appearing in Dane Cook's Tourgasm, a 30-day cross-country-tour-turned-reality-show which also included Cook, Gary Gulman and Robert Kelly, and was given an 8-episode run on HBO. Davis began performing comedy at an early age, and went to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment. After some film and television roles, he began hosting shows and doing a regular stand-up routine at Dublin's, an Irish pub formerly in Hollywood. It was there that he met Cook, when the comedian came in to join the recurring lineup. When the venue closed, Davis toured solo for a while. Grew up in Eugene, OR (No, I don't sell weed. stop asking). I was always the awkward kid, constantly trying to make people smile yet always coming across as shy. Sometimes I tried to hard to make people like me and ended up sending the wrong message. That could very well have been me compensating for the fact that I am gay but I was way too terrified to tell anyone. I always knew I wanted to do something that made people laugh. After 21 years in Oregon, I moved to southern California. It was here that my sense of humor really started to blossom, no longer confined to jokes about male genitals. When I turned 27, I ended up opening a fortune cookie that had the fortune of " Now is the time to share your humor with everyone." I figured stand-up comedy would be a good outlet for that. BOOK
