Growing up in Los Angeles, he always felt confused with his identity because he looked like so many different ethnicities but felt he did not fit in with just one. The nuns in middle school punished him for his jokes in class. His life changed watching the ugliest boy in school captivate the girls with the seductive power of the guitar. AFTER HIGH SCHOOL, HE ATTENDED JUNIOR COLLEGE TO PURSUE A DREAM IN SPORTS BROADCASTING. WHILE IN COLLEGE HE PARTICIPATED IN SPEACH DEBATE AND FOUND HI’S SPEACHES WERE ALWAYS FUNNY. HE DROPPED OUT OF COLLEGE TO TRY STAND UP COMEDY. TEN YEARS LATER MANNY MALDONADO IS RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE HOTTEST RISING LATINO COMICS IN THE COUNTRY. Philly native Jimmy Shubert began performing stand-up right out of high school. After moving to Los Angeles, Sam Kinison included him as one of the original "Outlaws of Comedy". His hour-long stand-up comedy special won Punchline's top 10 comedy dvds for 2010.
A plethora of television credits; most recently Jimmy has appeared on "Two Broke Girls" and "Off Their Rockers". He also has been seen in a recurring role (17 episodes), his character appropriately named Jimmy, on CBS's "King of Queens" for five seasons. He has also made appearances on such shows as "Entourage," "Heist," "ER," "Monk," "Reno 911," "Rude Awakenings," "Angel," "Once and Again," "Lucky," "New Car Smell," "Secret Service Guy," "The Loop " and "Youth In Revolt," to name a few.
