WHAT IS IT? PRETTY, FUNNY WOMEN is the longest running, all female stand-up comedy show in the country. Created in 1996, PFW is run, booked & hosted by comedienne & writer LISA SUNDSTEDT (aka The Heidi Fleiss of Comedy). PFW has been running strong in several venues for over 12 years including The Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, The Comedy Stop at the Trop in Atlantic City, The La Jolla Comedy Store, The Commerce Casino and currently plays every month at the World Famous Hollywood Improv. It features a different line up each show with a roster of over thirty seasoned comics who can be seen regularly on network television series, national commercials, hit sitcoms, Comedy Central Specials & The Tonight Show w Jay Leno. Some of the women who have been featured in PFW over the past decade are Sarah Silverman, Chelsea Handler, Sherri Shepherd, Margaret Cho & Aisha Tyler. All the comics from Lisa´s roster are hip, sexy, fun and hysterical! Stand up comedy has never looked so good.
WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE? Individually, these comics work colleges and clubs across the country. PFW features an amazing line up of five of these women doing their BEST 20 minutes. The tone of the show is sexy, irreverent, & smart. These comics are pros who have been working with each other for years. The chemistry between Lisa, the comics & the audience is unlike any other show out there.
WHO ARE THE FANS? Women love it because it´s smart, honest, hysterical and relatable. Young boys love it because it´s sexy. Men love it because it´s genuinely funny. Young girls love it because they all want to be us. Gay men love it because they all want to be us. Grandmas love it because it´s not "too" dirty. Couples love it because it´s interactive. Amy Witry hails from Tipton, Iowa (population 3000). With only one stoplight in the county she spent her childhood eating corn, performing clown shows for her neighborhood, and recreating scenes from The Dukes of Hazzard.
In between bad dates and stoplights Amy hosts and performs at comedy clubs, festivals, charity events and in random backyards from Los Angeles to NYC. She has completed the entire writing program at Second City and The Groundlings. She´s also performed at Coachella.
Amy has season tickets to the New Orleans Saints and travels to the Big Easy for home games. In addition to being a professional sports fan she has also completed marathons, triathlons and she broke her face surfing in Costa Rica. Kendra Ware is a multidisciplinary artist. She has performed in several venues throughout the US. She has performed in DC, NYC and in LA. Comedy venues include The Comedy Store in LA, The Improv in DC and UCB in LA. She has studied extensively at CALARTS where she received her MFA and at Sarah Lawrence College where she earned her BFA. Syd hails from Atlanta, Georgia. She attended American Academy of Dramatic Arts and is very thankful to continuously receive training from talented acting coaches outside the conservatory, which include Ivanna Chubbuck, Margie Haber Studio's, Second City and The Groundlings.
