Jay Weingarten is a writer and performer based in Los Angeles. Jay is the founder, producer and host of the popular comedy-variety show, The Birthday Party Show. He hosts open mics across the city, including places like Bar Lubitsch, Atwater Crossing, and Echoes Under Sunset, and works on shows like Sad People Talking and the Super Serious Show.
Jay co-hosts a weekly podcast (Haunting Open Mic Encounters) where comedians relive some of their most painful open mic experiences. He is a writer for Jamie Kennedy's Hahajk.com and the comedy podcast website The Plop List. He has appeared on the Channel 101 show "Breaking Good," which maintained a 6-month run at the festival.
Currently, you can find Jay performing stand-up in places ranging from the Hollywood Improv to backyards. Really, anywhere he's allowed to perform. He requires lots of hugs and physical affection. BOOK
