You MUST ARRIVE BY the start of the mic and stay the entire time.

We value the importance of creating a positive and supportive comedy community, and in order to continue to provide opportunities, we are asking all participants to observe the following code of ethics:

Funny:
*PG to PG-13 comedy at the open mics - because the open mics (especially the bar shows) are in shared areas where guests from the mainroom shows (sometimes all ages) are located, we are asking comedians to air on the side of working clean. If you are not sure whether or not your joke is clean or dirty, it’s dirty. It doesn’t need to be squeaky clean, but shouldn’t be any crazier than something you’d see on a Tonight Show set.

*Please do not scream or yell at the top of your lungs. You have a microphone to amplify you. Our rooms are soundproof, but there are other shows already in progress.

Professional:
*Please do not bring in ANY outside food or beverage. It’s not allowed any place in the building. Order something to eat or drink with us!

*Please do not bring in any backpacks or anything larger than a purse. This is for security and safety reasons. Keep it in the trunk of your car, please!

*Please treat the staff, comedians, and guests with courtesy and respect.

*Please respect the space. Do not walk through a room to get to another room. Please go and stay in the area where you are performing. If there is a buffet set up for a party or large event, chances are, it’s not your party. Please don’t eat off of any buffets or any special set ups.

Supportive
*We are asking all comedians to pay a $5 ticket to the open mic and to observe a one-item minimum per person. We’re doing our best to keep the mics as affordable as possible, given the current challenging economic climate. The Auditions will continue to remain free and open to all.

By purchasing this ticket, You hereby agree to adhere to the above codes in order to create a positive and supportive environment.

Comedian Patrick Kanehann
THE CLAPPER, GENERAL HOSPITAL,
Patrick’s comedy is intelligent and very accessible to a broad audience. Often mistaken for the neighborly Dad-next-door, surprise attacks are unleashed with a common sense bludgeon on subjects ranging from family and relationships to politics and religion. He is originally from Westport, CT. Patrick attended Northwestern University and is a graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. He was raised by an Irish Catholic father and a German Protestant mother, which means his coping and conflict resolution skills are tops. Patrick co-starred with Tracy Morgan and Leah Remini in “The Clapper" feature film, which debuts summer 2017. He also appears in the multi-national commercial campaign for Mexico Tourism. Patrick lists Bill Maher, Louis C.K. and George Carlin as artistic influences. Studio City is home, along with a parrot named Kodak, a hibachi and a vague sense of deja vu.
