Flappers Comedy Club and Restaurant invites you to enjoy our week-long The Wittiest Woman Wins Comedy Contest which takes place at our Burbank club during the month of November. Preliminary rounds will be held at Flappers Burbank in the Yoo Hoo Room Tuesday, November 8th through Saturday, November 12th at 7:30pm & 9:30pm each night. Audience votes for their favorite 3 comedians and combined votes will determine one winner. Each comedian who wins a preliminary round (10 shows, 10 winners) will perform in the final round on Sunday, November 28th at 8pm in the Main Room at Flappers Burbank. Management decides in the case of a tie. One comedian per each of the preliminary rounds wins $100.
In the Final Round in the Main Room on November 28th, the Audience Vote winner will receive $500. Audience votes for their favorite 3 comedians and combined votes will determine one winner. There will also be a separate Judge's Pick as well. Judges for past Flappers contests have been Claudia Cagan (booker for Arsenio, E!), Randi Siegel (Talent Manager), Michael Curran (Casting Agent at Warner Bros), Michael Cox (Booker for Tonight Show), Marc Scroggs (Agent, DSA), and more! Prize for Judge's Pick is a paid guest spot at the club. All shows will feature special guest headliners as seen on Comedy Central, HBO, and MTV who will perform as the votes are being tallied.

Kaja Martin is a touring stand-up comedian and online personality whose talents in comedy, writing, and directing entertain millions of viewers. Kaja just wrapped writing on the new comedic series Starter Pack (premiering Aug 20th) and Co-Directing the drama Guilty Party Season 2. Both of which are part of the AT&T Hello Lab Project in partnership with Fullscreen. Previously Kaja has helmed several successful online shows (The Equals Three Show, Top 6, Booze Lightyear, Comedians On, and Date Debate). She has also launched them into network platforms such as NETFLIX and Verizon Go90 with the original series, Riley Rewind and Miss Earth. In Film, Kaja has been fortunate enough to Executive Produce with brothers Jay & Mark Duplass for their 2015 comedy thriller, Manson Family Vacation. Salma Zaky is a student by day and stand-up comedian by night. Originally from the Bay Area, she moved to Los Angeles to attend college at UCLA, where she discovered her passion for stand-up. Ever since joining Shenanigans Comedy Club, she has been lucky enough to perform on campus in line-ups featuring Maria Bamford, Ali Wong, Hampton Yount, Quincy Jones and more. Salma started a weekly podcast called “Comedians in College Getting Degrees” which can be found on Soundcloud. This podcast focuses on high school and college experiences with episodes featuring a variety of professional LA comics. Salma expresses her comedic identity through a unique combination of self-deprecating anecdotes covering topics ranging from dating to student life and material about her family background. As Salma Zaky pursues her degree in English, she continues to find her voice on stage and is working everyday towards making a career out of comedy. BOOK

Joy Eileen is married with three boys (not to three boys.) She currently has three books published, and she also ghost writes when she has spare time. When she's not writing, yelling, folding laundry, or doing comedy, she rubs naked people for money (some people call that massage therapy.) Joy has been doing comedy on her patients for nine years, and has recently started bringing her brand of mom humor to the stage. She has performed at The Hollywood Improv, and other local venues.
