Shakurra Amatulla is an actor, singer and dancer as well as an award-winning playwright for her comedic radio play THE DISAPPEARANCE OF GENERATION X-LAX which won the 1ST PLACE GOLDEN REEL AWARD in 1998. In 2004 her dramatic play, SHRINK/PREACH, won Honorable Mention in STAGE 3 ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF NEW PLAYS, with a number of her plays receiving public readings in Denver, Colorado and New York City.
As a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) actor, she has appeared in numerous movie, television and commercial productions and made her professional debut on the COMEDY CENTRAL show JON BENJAMIN HAS A VAN.
In her careers as a published author, journalist and screenwriter, the 2008 AUSTIN FILM FESTIVAL named Shakurra TV DRAMA SEMIFINALIST for her INVISIBLE PEOPLE spec script for the HBO show BIG LOVE.
