The showcase features twenty five (25) local comedians each performing three minutes of their best stand-up comedy in front of a live audience. Comedians are auditioning for a spot in the 5th Annual Burbank Comedy Festival held at Flappers Comedy Club and Restaurant in Downtown Burbank, California on August 12-18, 2018. At the end of the show, two comedians will be chosen for the festival spots: one will be selected by audience vote and the second by producer vote. Tickets are available by going to the Clubs website.

The first 25 comedians to submit and pay a non-refundable $10 submission fee (USD) will automatically be signed up to perform in one of the 25 showcase spots. Once you register, you will be confirmed and offered one (1) complimentary ticket to invite friends & family to watch the audition show! James Camacho is a NYC based comedian. He was a finalist on Season 3 of New York’s Got Talent. James performs regularly at The Comic Strip Live. When not in NYC he can be found at establishments including Catch A Rising Star and The Comedy Works.
James has worked on Elite Daily, The Wendy Williams Show, ESPN, and more. You can see him in the near future on ID Channel’s, A Crime to Remember, and in the upcoming comedy, “What Happened Last Night” staring Amber Rose.
James started doing stand-up as a student at Rutgers University. It was a way for him to tell the jokes he wrote in his screenplays. Now stand-up has moved to the forefront. Mary Jane Murphy hails from NYC. Making people laugh has always been her favorite thing to do. Mary Jane started performing stand-up comedy while living in Hawaii in 2013. In LA, she has featured in front of crowds at the Flappers in Claremont as well as the Flappers in Burbank. She has also featured at the World Famous Comedy Store. Over the past seven years, she has competed in comedy festivals in LA, NYC and Hawaii. In 2016 she won best female comic at the Manhattan Comedy Festival and recently won joke of the week on comedywire.com. Besides performing in comedy clubs across NYC and LA, she has also toured with headliners in Florida, Vegas and more recently Amsterdam.
