Jamal Irving started performing stand up comedy in 2009 while attending North Carolina State University. As an engineering student, telling jokes never seemed to be part of the equation, until the day his best friend entered his dorm room and said, �You should be a comedian.� Although flattered, he initially dismissed the idea. It wasn�t until he reflected on his adolescence and realized he was commonly the class clown that he actually started to give the thought consideration. He began to come up with material and it wasn�t long after that he noticed writing jokes was a lot more fun than his studies. His first time on stage he received a standing ovation.
