The R & R Comedy Showcase features comics, magicians and any other interesting act in southern California's only showcase for variety arts talent. Uptown Eebony Browne, The Belle of Comedy, was born in Las Vegas on April 7, 1974. Uptown has appeared on The Chelsea Handler Show. As a rapper/singer, Uptown has performed at numerous venues on the Sunset Strip including Whiskey a Go-Go and Viper Room. Uptown has interviewed Magic Johnson, Penny Marshall, Tichina Arnold, and many more. Bobbie Oliver is one of Los Angeles´ funniest comics, but she had to come a long way to get here. Born Barbara "Bobbie" Evans in Covington, GA, a small town outside Atlanta whose chief claim to fame was being used for location shooting for The Dukes of Hazard TV series, Bobbie grew up in a two-bedroom, one-bathroom trailer inhabited by a family of seven. Bobbie found escape in staying up late with her father to watch The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, which became an inspiration to her. In 1987, while at LaGrange College on a Theatre scholarship, Bobbie began doing standup. She was hooked! After graduating in 1990, she went on the road for 8 years based out of Athens, GA.
