Canadian comedian Debra DiGiovanni is one of a kind. She’s been called the “Best Comedian to see after a Messy Break Up” and for several years she was named Toronto’s (her home town) favorite comedian. Her first comedy special, Single Awkward Female taped for Showtime is now available on Netflix. Debra’s comedy has a sharp edge while maintaining a playful, happy air and her persona is one of the best developed of any comic working today. Couple that with a hilarious act that is so personal everyone can relate and you see why Debra is so popular; her humour and charm lies in her unflinching honesty and openness.
In response to the President-elect’s repeated threats on human rights, comedians in over 20 cities are coordinating shows to raise money for the ACLU on Inauguration Day Weekend for the WHAT A JOKE Comedy Fest, organized by New York comedians Jenn Welch (The New York Comedy Festival) and Emily Winter (Writer for TV Land, Fusion TV). From Thursday, January 19th, through Saturday, January 21st, benefit comedy shows under the name WHAT A JOKE will take place simultaneously around the country and in the UK. Because seriously, what a joke. A portion of the proceeds from this week's show will go to the ACLU.

Rashel Mereness is a writer living in Los Angeles, California. Currently a staff writer on a monthly internet program, Late Night Cup o’ Joe,” Rashel also performs stand-up comedy and improv throughout Los Angeles.
After completing the UCLA graduate certificate program in Television Writing, Rashel completed her first television pilot script, entitled “Boomtown,” which has won numerous awards in several film festivals. Prior to that, Rashel’s first short film, which she wrote, directed and performed in, “$40 Million,” was nominated for Best Comedy Short at the Action on Film Festival in 2012.
When not writing and performing, Rashel works on the marketing and advertising for a bar she co-owns with two partners and tries to find time to get out of LA to go skiing.
