Sure, you might be a great comic... but can you act? And can you do it COLD?
It's a nightmare for many comedians: You get called in by a major network... only to be handed a script you've never seen and asked to make it come alive - and be funny! - on the spot. Yet, this type of audition (known as a 'cold read') is all too common in Hollywood today. In this workshop, acting coach Elizabeth Payne walks comedians through a typical audition process and teaches you how to break down an audition script in your head, make strong choices and stay true to your comedic voice, all while avoiding some of the most common auditioning pitfalls - the stuff that will keep you from getting the part!
After all... when you finally get your 'big break', don't you want to be sure you're ready to nail it?
Elizabeth has taught at places like the American Conservatory Theater and the American Musical Theater of San Jose to name a few. Most recently she taught acting at The Workshop with Jeffrey Tambor.
As a working actor, Elizabeth has appeared extensively in film, television and regional theater. She has also been seen and heard in more commercials than she can count. EPK
