Born & raised in Washington DC, Debra enjoyed hanging out with Abe Lincoln, George Washington, and other DC celebs her age while growing up. In 1980 she began a 24-year broadcasting career as a TV & radio host in the Washington DC market. As a radio DJ, Debra got her first taste of stand-up comedy when she began hosting live station events where she was asked to “warm up the crowd” before the concert began. After distributing thousands of blankets and mugs of cocoa at the first such event, she learned the “warm-up” the venue actually expected from her involved joke-telling. Also a voice actor since 1980, Debra launched her own VO company & studio in 2001. Since moving to LA in 2009, she’s been adding some film & TV roles to her resume.
