Michael is a second generation Korean American who just couldn’t fit into the mold of the “perfect” child for his parents. For this reason, he would become the black sheep in the family, someone that other family members would use as an example of what not to be. He didn’t get fantastic grades, he didn’t go to an elite college, and he had absolutely no interest in becoming a doctor, lawyer, or the typical job that would get respect in the Asian community. Instead, Michael just got into a lot of trouble and rebelled a lot trying to find his identity. Through that struggle, he discovered his love of performance and the creative field. Whether it’s singing, acting, or doing stand up, he thrives in the creative environment and that is where his heart lies.
