Dominic Zappia is a native Californian but has lived all over. He most recently lived in New Jersey, while working in New York City as a college instructor. A student encouraged him to do stand-up but also to keep his day job. Now that he is a stay-at-home dad he can do both. He's been introduced as "a New York comic", which means he is "more intellectual but not as hot". Although he never did comedy while working in New York, he considered that a compliment.
