Her mom was a single parent trying to raise both her and her rambunctious older brother Robert, while being faced with the devastations of poverty. Melissa’s early outlook on life seemed rather bleak. Both Robert and her began at an early age experimenting with different forms of comedy. Over the years she has struggled physically, emotionally, and mentally. At the ripe age of seven she was diagnosed with type one diabetes, and through the years has battled clinical depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, obesity, and drug abuse. She has even been in not one but two comas. Today she is living her life to the fullest after losing her brother/best friend Robert, in 2019. She had weight loss surgery in November of 2020, and then adopting two kittens. One an angel and the other, a serial killer. Melissa enjoys the art of storytelling and finding the light in dark places.
