I was born in Brooklyn, NY, but spent my earliest years in Port Au Prince, Haiti. I went on to live in Montreal, Canada, where I learned to speak fluent French. I finally settled back in New York at the age of nine.
I discovered a love for stand up, sketch comedy and movies. I spent hours watching The Carol Burnette Show, SNL, You Can’t Do That On Television and Caroline’s Comedy Hour.
In 2005, I optioned the romantic comedy, ONCE UPON A WEDDING, to Foxboro Productions. In 2009, I optioned BUTTERFLY, to Sidney Kimmel Productions.
In 2019, I was a winner in the Writers Lab Screenwriting Competition with my sci-fi screenplay BLUE WORLD. And in 2021, I was a semifinalist in the CineStory TV Fellowship Contest with my script PARALLEL.
In 2020, I finally realized a lifelong dream of developing and launching my sketch show, Miatta’s Festival Show on TikTok.
