Pretty, Funny Women (PFW) began in 1995 as the first ever all-female comedy show featuring the hottest up-and-coming female comics in Los Angeles. It was created by Lisa Sundstedt, AKA the Madame of Comedy, and is now the longest running all female comedy show in the world.
Lisa produced the "Pretty, Funny Women Show" at the Hollywood Improv for more than ten years, and now clubs all over Los Angeles have been home to PWF shows. Some of the regular performers on Lisa’s shows included; Sheri Shepherd, Chelsea Handler, Tig Notaro, Retta, Natasha Leggero, Maria Bamford, Sarah Tiana, Vicki Barbalak, and Heather McDonald.
After presenting Pretty, Funny Women Zoom Virtual Showcases during lockdown, Lisa is excited to bring Pretty, Funny Women LIVE! back to Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank. We’ll see you there!
Flapper's proudly presents our all-female show "Wittiest Women," where we showcase the funniest female headliners from around the country together with rising comedy stars! Past headliners have included The Boobe Sisters (America's Got Talent), Helen Hong (NPR's Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me) and more!

Dawn Brodey is a comedian with a history degree who is as comfortable in a museum as she is on the stages of comedy clubs around the United States. She is the producer and host of the bi-monthly podcast: HILF: (History I’d Like to Fuck) and is a contributor to The History Channel. She is also a street improvisor at Universal Studios Hollywood, and lives in Los Angeles with her husband, daughter and itty-bitty dog, Yogurt.

Lisa is an accomplished stand up comic, writer, singer, actress and producer. Her first professional gig was singing at Tokyo Disneyland. She spent another few months singing on a cruise ship, followed by four years on the road with the 50's rock group "Sha Na Na". In 1995, some jackass at the Hollywood Improv told her, "pretty women can�t be funny" so Lisa created "Pretty, Funny Women"...the longest running all female comedy show in the world. She has appeared on Comics Unleashed, Stand up in Stilettos, The Montreal and Chicago Comedy festivals and clubs across the country.. She has written on �Girls Behaving Badly�, �Chelsea Lately�, �Coach Charming� and was a producer on �Parental Discretion with Stefanie Wilder-Taylor� for Nick Mom. She has done hundreds of national commercials and voice-overs, including campaigns for Vons/Safeway, Mattel, Ford, and Kraft. Her hobbies include gambling and, well, thats it.

Comedian Anastasia Jacques

Anastasia Jacques is an up-and-coming stand-up comedian and actor who’s adderall-fueled energy shakes up the crowd. She’s a graduate of “Pretty Funny Women” and performs regularly at Flappers, The Hollywood Comedy, and Fourth Wall. Most notably she was on a “Don’t Tell Comedy” line-up in San Diego after only 3 shows as a pro stand-up. She’s moving fast! Originally from Dallas, TX Anastasia moved out to LA in 2021 after graduating from The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with a BFA in Acting. And now that she’s “hopped off the plane at LAX” and she’s taking the comedy scene by storm!

Comedian Julie Sheppard

Julie Sheppard is an award-winning performer who is best known for her work as an impersonator extraordinaire for over 30 years. Julie is known internationally for her portrayal of Judy Garland, she captivated audiences as a Las Vegas Residency Artist in Legends in Concert and toured Europe for 10 years. She is a veteran of comedy having played venues in Las Vegas, New York, Los Angeles, and throughout Europe.

According to my dad, I started talking at age 2 and have not shut up since. Throughout my childhood, I tried to find outlets for my chatter and creativity, from theater to dance. After over a decade of fear, I finally tried improv and did not die. Now, after pushing through even more terror, I have found another outlet where I can continue to talk, this time for a somewhat captive audience. As there are few things in life that are better than making people laugh and bringing them joy, I hope that my stories bring you laughter and encourage you to push through whatever makes you scared as you probably will not die, either. Sara is actress, comedian and writer. She has appeared on TWO AND HALF MEN, PARKS & RECREATION, NORBIT, ALL ABOUT STEVE, MONK, FRANKLIN & BASH, WORKAHOLICS, WHY? WITH HANNIBAL BURESS to name a few as well as playing various characters in sketches for seven years on THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO. Sara completed the UCB improv program and was a member of the â€"Cousin Larry†Improv group.
