Flappers Comedy Club and Restaurant proudly presents “Show Your Shortz (And Scare Us Out Of Them)” – a new 48-Hr Horror Comedy Film Festival Contest! Preliminary rounds occur every Monday in October at 7:30pm Pacific Time. The Final round occurs on Halloween, 10/31 7:30pm Pacific Time. All shows take place in Flappers Yoo Hoo Zoom Room! People of all skill levels/ages/shapes/sizes welcome!
How it works:
1) Any and all filmmakers who are interested may sign up to participate in one (and only one) of the preliminary rounds.Preliminary rounds: Monday, Oct 5th, 12, 19, 26 Final Round: Oct 31st
2) When you sign up, you will receive a link to meet the FRIDAY before the preliminary round at 5:30pm. At this meeting, you will receive the topic for the short film, and you will be able to partner up with others (if you desire)
3) You will have the Saturday and Sunday after the Friday meeting to shoot and edit your short film. Your film will be due by Monday at 10am. *5 min max*Cannot contain previously shot footage*Must be completed without violating social distancing policies of whichever area you are in while filming.*The short cannot contain anything copyrighted (music/previously used footage/text etc).*No brand names or logos*Genre is horror comedy ish – as long as it’s funny*Please include end credits that mention actors/writer/director etc.
4) We will show the short films Monday night at 7:30pm in the Flappers Zoom room – tickets for the preliminary rounds will be $5. The audience will vote.1st place: $25 and your film featured on Flappers Social Media Channels2nd place: Flappers Gift Card3rd place: Free One Day Workshop at Flappers University
5) The Top Three films from each round will be shown in the final round, which will take place on Halloween, 10/31/20 at 7:30pm Pacific Time. Tickets $10. The audience will vote and the top three will win:1st place: $50 and your film Featured on Flappers Social Media Channels2nd place: Flappers Gift Card3rd place: Free One Day Workshop at Flappers UniversityWe will also invite industry (agents/managers/casting directors) to watch this round.
